ICA Spin Stools
HENI and the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) are delighted to announce a special collaboration between Damien Hirst and the ICA, ICA Spin Stools – 200 unique works that celebrate both Hirst’s striking Spin Painting series and his long-established relationship with the ICA.
In ICA Spin Stools, Hirst utilises his iconic Spin Paintings motif to mark his collaborative history with the ICA. Each stool is completely unique in its colour palette, and their patterns are produced through Hirst’s signature spin-paint technique. All works are finished with an archival ICA logo — a nod to the Institute’s history and its role in Hirst’s early career. This bespoke series is limited to just 200 pieces, each numbered and hand-signed by Damien Hirst on the stool’s leg. The works are priced at $5,000 (plus applicable taxes) each and are available by application on HENI Primary from 19 February until 17:00 GMT on 2 March 2026.
For each artwork sold, $2,000 USD will be donated to Institute of Contemporary Arts Limited, a registered charity in England and Wales with charity number: 236848. The donation will go towards supporting the future exhibitions, events and learning programmes at the ICA.
The ICA Spin Stools works are on display at HENI Gallery for the duration of the release. A stool will also be on display at the ICA until 2 March 2026.
You can complete your application for ICA Spin Stools on a computer or mobile device, after which you will receive a confirmation email detailing each of the artworks you applied for. Please note that the HENI Vault is not available for the Primary release of ICA Spin Stools.

Because ICA Spin Stools is an application-based release, HENI tries to ensure allocations are broad and fair (rather than on a ‘first come, first served’ basis) as such each application will be reviewed individually. The Client Liaison team will reach out to successful applicants to finalise the allocation of their artworks.
If you wish to apply for a specific artwork, please select ‘I have a preference’ during the application. You can submit multiple preferred artworks in case your first choice is not available. If none of your choices are available, we may offer you the opportunity to purchase a different artwork. HENI cannot guarantee that you will be offered the opportunity to buy every artwork you apply for.
