Alice Mackler, who has died aged 92, spent much of her life in obscurity, painting in her spare time but she achieved late-career success in her 80s. Her strange clay figures were first noticed by critics when shown in New York in 2013.

Yoko Ono shares with The Sunday Times’ critic Waldemar Januszczak her favourite works ahead of her Tate Modern retropective, including the outrage caused in London by her 1966 “bottoms film”.

Amoako Boafo makes his Mexican debut at Mariane Ibrahim in Mexico City. The Ghanaian painter's solo show is among the exhbitions that make the cut in Cultured Magazine’s guide to the city's buzzy art week.
