Music of the Future (Small)
The House of Music prints were created after original works from Doig's current exhibition at Serpentine, which explores the relationship between his art and music. In some works, a stack of speakers towers over a Trinidadian landscape while another features the calypso and soca performer Winston 'Shadow' Bailey. Wearing his signature dark cloak emblazoned with a ghostly skeleton, and his guitar strung across his back, he looks out towards the sea and the distant lighthouse. Shadow's lyrics for his song 'Dat Soca Boat' inspired the Serpentine exhibition title, House of Music.
