Artists Lose First Round of Copyright Infringement Case Against AI Art Generators

Artists suing generative artificial intelligence art generators have hit a stumbling block in a lawsuit over the uncompensated and unauthorized use of images downloaded from the internet to train AI systems. A federal judge advanced an infringement claim against Stability AI but he dismissed the rest of the lawsuit.
