In memory of Thomas Billhardt, who passed away on January 23 of this year, CAMERA WORK Gallery is presenting a 30-work exhibition in its reception room from February 28, 2025.
Banksy – whose identity is publicly unknown and the subject of feverish speculation – has crossed the globe for decades painting clandestine murals in public spaces, including in the occupied West Bank, London and Los Angeles.
The earliest surviving colour print of a member of the royal family was taken by Madame Yevonde, a pioneer of the craft in 1935, showing Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester – and sister-in-law to King George VI and Edward VIII – on her wedding day.
Several photographs were taken including of artworks, high-value vehicles, a poster advertising the upcoming gold lavatory exhibition and a view from the window that would later be smashed in the theft, the court heard.
