1 - Around 240 artists are opening their studios across the Hudson Valley and Catskills to the public tomorrow and Sunday as part of the Upstate Art Weekend.
The project in upstate New York, set up in 2020, also includes guided tours, exhibitions and parties.
2 - Visitors to the Archaeological Park of Pompeii can now use an augmented reality app to see the city as it was before its destruction when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79AD.
Users can visit virtual reconstructions of the city's forum and theaters and watch gladiators fight via the app which works on tablets and smartphones.

His image of the Statue of Liberty led the sale of works on paper which included an America 250 section
celebrating the country's 250th anniversary.
5 - An auction record was set for Rose Wylie last night when her work, Sailing Boat, sold for $385,400 at Christie's in London beating her previous record by $80,300.
The work was one of 56 offered from the collection of Anita and Poju Zabludowicz which brought in $20.5 million.
