Romania has launched a $6.7 million compensation claim for the ancient treasures stolen from a museum in The Netherlands in January.

The artifacts, three gold bracelets and the Golden Helmet of Coțofenești which dates to 450BC, have still not been recovered despite three suspects being detained and due to appear in court again next week.

The treasures from the National History Museum of Romania were on loan to the Drents Museum at the time of the theft which it described as "an unprecedented assault" in its more than 170-year existence.

Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, Elmgreen & Dragset and Abdollah Nafisi are among the 14 artists whose work will go on show when Frieze transforms a corner of London's Regent's Park into a temporary sculpture park.

Frieze Sculpture, curated by Fatoş Üstek, runs from September 17 to November 2 either side of the Frieze London and Frieze Masters art fairs which take place from October 15 to 19.

It is the 13th year the free public art initiative has run in the central London park.

What is it about parking lots? The Denver Museum of Nature & Science decided to dig up a section of its parking lot and accidentally discovered a 67.5-million-year-old dinosaur fossil.

They only started digging as part of a test to see if they could use geothermal energy at the museum and found the bone remains 763 feet below the car park surface.

The fossil is now on display at the museum. It comes more than a decade after the remains of King Richard III, the last English king killed in battle, were found beneath a municipal parking lot in Leicester.

His remains were re-buried in the English city's cathedral and the story of the discovery was made into a film called The Lost King.

A Caravaggio masterpiece is going on show in the UK for the first time along with two Roman sculptures that were once part of the same collection.

Victorious Cupid will be on loan at London’s Wallace Collection from Berlin's Gelmäldergalerie from November, a coup for its director, Xavier Bray, who led the change in the London’s museum’s historic policy of never lending works in return.

It will be accompanied by the sculptures that once stood alongside the painting in the collection of two brothers who lived in a vast villa near the Pantheon in Rome which was home to 14 Caravaggios as well as works by Raphael, Giorgione, Titian and Andrea del Sarto.

3 - Ugo Rondinone's Seven Magic Mountains sculpture is staying in Las Vegas for the time being after plans to move it from its current home on Interstate 15 south of the city to a new site 450 miles away were cancelled. But the popular landmark will have to move eventually as its desert home is earmarked for a new airport planned for 2037.

1 - Brooklyn-based Scott Csoke's show Carnival of Animals opens at Sargent’s Daughters in New York tonight. His work recreates classic 18th- and 19th-century rural scenes but transforms the animals into modern-day "expressive avatars of queer experience".

2 - Alan Sarat's hanging wire sculptures get their own show for the first time at Karma gallery on West 26th Street, New York. The show, which opens tonight, includes work dating back to 1975 as well as contemporary pieces.

3 - Robert Stadler and Yinka Shonibare's joint show at the Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Los Angeles opens tonight. The exhibition includes more than 30 functional sculptures made from metal, marble, stone and wood.
