The search for the Louvre's stolen $102 million jewels is ongoing, as is the search for a scapegoat for the whole sorry affair.
This week the director of the Paris museum, Laurence des Cars, and her predecessor Jean-Luc Martinez were both hauled over the coals by the French Senate's Cultural Affairs Committee.
They were both criticized for the handover between them which saw warnings about the museum's vulnerability to a break-in down-played and ignored with one senator talking of "a kind of continuity in vagueness".
Others were more direct with des Cars taking the worst of it including one Senator asking her "Isn't it time for you to resign?" Another simply said: "Why are you still here?"
Meanwhile the troubles mount at the beleaguered institution with its website today warning visitors some rooms are closed due to the effects of a staff walkout in protest at pay and conditions.
