Around 2 million people reportedly took to the streets of New York yesterday to mark the Knicks NBA win and the celebrations reach the hallowed halls of its Metropolitan Museum of Art this Sunday.
The museum, run by director Max Hollein, announced it would be "illuminated in blue and orange" - the team's colors - to "celebrate" their first championship in more than half a century.
Their success has seen the city transformed with public art and murals supporting the team, but at least one artist has called foul on a contemporary after Gavin Snider accused another of copying his work.
Snider, who was commissioned by the team to paint the crowds outside Madison Square Garden, accused Devon Rodriguez of replicating his work.
Rodriguez, who found fame with his realistic portraits of commuters on the city's subway, has a huge following for his work online. He has not commented on the claims but has since deleted the post which showed the work.
