A Swiss security firm is offering collectors a rock-solid solution to the threat of climate change and theft.
They are about to start digging out 25 high-security caves in the Swiss Alps near Bern which offer 24-hour guards and a constant temperature of 55 Fahrenheit which is ideal for storing art, according to the Times of London.
The company's website says the caverns, which are available to rent or buy for hundreds of thousands of dollars, are perfect for "the secure storage of paintings, sculptures, automobiles, jewelry or high-value goods".
Thomas Gasser, chairman of Brunig Mega Safe, told Swiss broadcaster RTS they hoped to take advantage of the current instability in the Middle East, saying: "For a long time, Dubai was considered safe. Today, that sense of security is being called into question. People simply want to safeguard part of their wealth."
