An almost four-decade success story seems to be ending in mutually assured destruction for leading art advisors Barbara Guggenheim and Abigail Asher.
A report in Artnet News says the pair lodged rival lawsuits with New York's Supreme Court following the collapse of their business after 37 years.
The advisors, who helped steer clients from Tom Cruise to Coca-Cola through the vagaries of the art market, are now trading allegations of exploitation and fraud.
Guggenheim accuses Asher of misappropriating more than $20.5 million while Asher alleges her former partner charged two luxury cars and the cost of her husband's funeral to the firm, according to legal documents.
Asher also says she was told to "wear leather" and sleep with clients to get business and was encouraged to "build a relationship with Jeffrey Epstein".
Each side denies the claims levied against them by the other.
