1 - Canada's Vancouver Art Gallery and the Walker Art Center in the US city of Minneapolis have teamed up to buy Nan Goldin‘s Stendhal Syndrome.
They will take turns to show the 2024 work made up of a slideshow of her photographs with an accompanying voiceover.
2 - Irish Culture Minister Patrick O'Donovan says politicians from countries including Australia, Wales, South Korea, Canada, Norway, Lithuania and Estonia have expressed interest in Ireland's scheme providing a basic income for artists.
It currently pays $377 a week to 2,000 artists who are selected by a lottery.
3 - Art Basel Qatar says 87 galleries have signed up to take part in its inaugural edition next February in Doha.
The fair, run by artistic director Wael Shawky, includes exhibitors from 31 countries and territories with 18% being newcomers to Art Basel.
4 - Tuan Andrew Nguyen, Gala Porras-Kim and Garrett Bradley are among the artists awarded this year's MacArthur "genius grants".
They are awarded for "extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits and a marked capacity for self-direction" and include an $800,000 prize paid in installments over five years.
5 - Rosana Paulino and Adriana Varejao have been chosen to represent Brazil at next year's Venice Biennale.
The exhibition runs from May 9 to November 22 with the Brazilian pavilion organized by Diane Lima.
6 - The director of the Kunstmuseum Basel, Elena Filipovic, has been nominated for Switzerland's Woman of the Year award.
Votes can be cast online until October 27 with the winner announced later this year.
