This David Bowie sketch for a proposed film that was never made is just one of more than 90,000 items collected together in the singer's archive at the V&A East Storehouse in London.
Around 200 exhibits will be on show at any one time in a series of rotating mini displays from Ziggy Stardust costumes to the Thierry Mugler suit he wore to his wedding in 1992.
The archive includes 414 costumes and accessories, almost 150 musical instruments and lyrics, posters, fan mail, scripts and tens of thousands of photographs, negatives and transparencies.
Visitors will be able to book to see five items each visit, with two weeks’ notice, using the V&A’s order-an-object service, though special appointments will have to be made to see some objects.
The David Bowie Centre opens at V&A East Storehouse on September 13. Entry is free.
