1 - Makeda Best has been appointed chief photography curator at New York's Museum of Modern Art succeeding Clement Cheroux.
She was previously employed by Harvard Art Museums and will leave her current role as deputy director of curatorial affairs at Oakland Museum to start her new role in September.
