Zhang Xiaogang, Rite of Spring (1989), sold for $89,200 (HKD698,500), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in Hong Kong on March 28.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $237,900, realizing a 72% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2010 for $327,200 at Christie's.

Oil on paper mounted on cardboard, 74.0 x 54.5cm. The work has been traded twice in the past.
