Zeng Fanzhi, Mask Series No. 4 (1997) sold for $2.46m (CNY17.84m), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in Shanghai on April 3.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $677,000, realizing a 21% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2022 for $3.13m at Christie's.
