Yayoi Kusama Work Sells for $114,000 to Deliver a 12% Annualized Return

Yayoi Kusama, A Blue Bird (1981) sold for $114,000 (GBP88,900), more than three times the low estimate at Sotheby's in London on March 5.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $102,700, equivalent to an annualized return of 12%. It last sold at auction in 2005 for $11,300 at Christie's.

Gouache, Gold Paint, Ink, Glitter, Charcoal And Collage On Paper, 66.0 x 51.4cm. The work has been traded twice in the past.
