Yang Fudong, The First Intellectual (Set of Three) (2000) sold for $359,800 (HKD2.82m), more than two and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in Hong Kong on March 29. The coloured chromogenic print work has been traded twice in the past.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $168,900, a 88% rise.
