Wu Guanzhong, Tokyo from the Window (1988), sold for $243,100 (HKD1.91m), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in Hong Kong on April 29.
The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $194,100, equivalent to an annualized return of 8%. It last sold at auction in 2006 for $49,000 at Sotheby's.
Ink and colour on paper, 53.0 x 47.0cm. The work has not been traded before.
