Willem de Kooning, Woman on the Beach (1962) sold for $152,400, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on September 26.
The sale was below the previous auction result by $74,700, realizing a 32% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2015 for $227,100 at Sotheby's.
