The Vestry House Museum, a cultural institution in Waltham Forest, is slated to reopen in Autumn 2026 following an extensive revitalisation program. The initiative, overseen by Waltham Forest Council, aims to significantly enhance the museum's infrastructure and visitor experience.
The refurbishment encompasses the creation of new exhibition spaces, the addition of a café, and the development of creative workspaces. Design for the project is being managed by GuM Studio and Studio Weave, with architectural contributions from Pringle Richards Sharratt Architects. Claire Mead is also involved in the project's development.
The revitalised museum is set to offer an expanded program focusing on local history and cultural heritage. The curatorial direction will integrate historical objects with significant artistic contributions, with works by artists such as Henry Moore anticipated to be part of the renewed offerings.
