V&A East Museum Confirms April 2026 Opening with Thomas J Price Commission

The V&A East Museum is set to open its doors on April 18, 2026, at East Bank in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford. A significant new monumental sculpture by Thomas J Price has been commissioned as a central public artwork for the museum's inauguration.

The museum's initial programming will feature a range of contemporary art and design commissions and exhibitions. Confirmed artists include Rene Matić, Lawrence Lek, Laura Wilson, Carrie Mae Weems, Tania Bruguera, Es Devlin, Shahed Saleem, and Justinien Tribillon. These works will explore diverse mediums, from photography and digital art to performance, fashion, and film, encompassing topics such as sculpture, design, music, and film.

The V&A East Museum, designed by O’Donnell + Tuomey, forms a core component of the broader V&A East development, which also encompasses the V&A East Storehouse. The project aims to establish a new cultural landmark within East London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
