Opening on 28 March 2026 at the V&A South Kensington's Sainsbury Gallery, the exhibition will examine Elsa Schiaparelli's significant contributions to fashion and her collaborations with key figures in modern art.
"Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art" will trace the designer's career and the house's legacy, showcasing how Schiaparelli intersected with Surrealism and the avant-garde. The exhibition will feature works and collaborations with artists such as Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau, Man Ray, Eileen Agar, Alberto Giacometti, Leonor Fini, Meret Oppenheim, Elsa Triolet, and Jean Schlumberger.
The display will encompass a range of media, including fashion, painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, accessories, and film. It will also highlight the contemporary direction of Maison Schiaparelli under Daniel Roseberry, demonstrating the enduring influence of Elsa Schiaparelli's vision on design and couture.
