Artist Tschabalala Self has unveiled her first large-scale public sculpture, titled 'Art Lovers', now installed at The New Museum in New York. The work inaugurates the institution's Facade Sculpture Program.

The sculpture, rendered in a medium consistent with Self's broader practice, depicts a romantic scene. This public art piece is understood to engage with themes of contemporary life in New York.

This commission marks a notable development for Self, whose work has consistently explored representations of the body and identity. The exhibition was overseen by The New Museum’s curatorial department, with Massimiliano Gioni and Madeline Weisburg involved in its presentation.
