Toyen's Auction Record Jumps 34%

Toyen, Le devenir de la liberté (1946) sold for $4.96m (GBP3.71m), more than three times the low estimate at Christie's in London on March 5. The oil on canvas work has been traded once in the past.

The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $1.27m, a 34% rise.
