Carl Andre, an influential pioneer of Minimalist sculpture who worked in elemental materials, such as wood, metal and notoriously bricks, has died aged 88, The Times reports. It notes that Andre’s career was overshadowed by the accusation that he played a role in the death of his wife and fellow artist Ana Mendieta.

David LaChapelle, who got his start shooting for Andy Warhol’s Interview while working as a busboy for Studio 54, sat down with Observer to talk about his career so far. The photographer’s solo show “Happy Together” opens this week in Miami.

Cindy Sherman, who is emerging from a creative slump during the Covid pandemic with electrifying new work on show in New York, reveals she tried using AI to see if it could at all replicate a "Cindy Sherman". The result was “pathetic,” she tells The Times.

Shepard Fairey’s protest poster, which is based on a photograph of an injured Palestinian child in Gaza, has been unfurled as a giant banner by activists on the facade of the Reina Sofia museum in Madrid, The Art Newspaper reports.
