Tiffany Window Sells for $12.5M, Smashing Auction Record by 500%

Tiffany Studios, The Danner Memorial Window (1913) sold for $12.48m, more than twice the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on November 18. The leaded glass, selectively plated on the front and reverse, lead came, copper foil work has been traded 4 times in the past.

Designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany and Agnes Northrop for a church in Ohio, the sale of the stained glass window beat the auction record of a piece by Tiffany Studios by $10.49m, a 500% rise.

The artist’s previous auction record was set by the same work, selling for $1.99m at Christie's on December 08, 2000.
