The Met's Della Robbia Makes Its Debut

The Metropolitan Museum of Art's exhibition focuses on the innovative glazed terracotta sculptures produced by the Florentine Della Robbia family, including key works by Luca, Andrea, and Giovanni della Robbia.

Titled Rediscovering Della Robbia at The Met, the show opened on August 10 and runs until January 17, 2028.

A highlight of the show is Andrea della Robbia’s monumental Assumption of the Virgin (Marquand Altarpiece), which has been newly reattributed to Andrea. This work, previously off view for nearly 70 years, will be publicly accessible once again.

The exhibition is supported by the collector and Met trustee Tom Hill and his wife Janine Hill, whose Hill Art Foundation is in Chelsea.
