Thaddaeus Ropac has announced its exclusive representation of the Leoncillo Foundation, dedicated to preserving and promoting the work of Italian sculptor Leoncillo. The gallery plans to present an exhibition of his work in its Milan space in the fall.

Born Leoncillo Leonardi (1915–1968), and known simply as Leoncillo, he was a prominent figure in post-war Italian art, recognized for his innovative approach to clay sculpture and ceramics in abstract and figurative forms.

The artist’s work is held in notable institutional collections, including the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna in Rome, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and New York's Guggenheim.

The first exhibition under this new representation is due to open in September at Thaddaeus Ropac’s Milan gallery.

In the past, the artist's foundation has worked with Bologna's Galleria d'Arte Maggiore.
