Tate Modern is set to stage Yvonne Rainer's influential 'Trio A' on July 10-11, within the Turbine Hall. The presentation will feature a new generation of dancers, led by Sara Wookey.

Ranier will give a remote artist talk on 11 July in conversation with Catherine Wood, the interim director of Tate Modern.

A 1978 film of Rainer dancing Trio A, which is now in Tate’s collection, will be played in the Tanks Lobby.

First performed in 1966, 'Trio A' emerged from the Judson Dance Theater in New York, embodying principles of minimalism and challenging traditional dance conventions. Its original context involved artists such as Trisha Brown and Robert Rauschenberg.

The institution's wider performance programming for 2026 includes 'Alterfuturisms: Decentring Speculative Imaginaries,' a program of film and performance scheduled on July 11 in the Starr Cinema and Tanks Lobby.
