Tate Modern has announced two new participatory art projects as part of its UNIQLO Tate Play program for 2026, featuring artists Lina Lapelytė and Linda Bell. Both artists will present interactive installations and performances within the museum's Turbine Hall, continuing the program's focus on engaging audiences through contemporary art.
Linda Bell's project, 'Loop Swing Shape Remake', will be presented first, running from 28 March to 12 April 2026. This installation and performance piece, developed in collaboration with ActionSpace, continues Bell's exploration of sculpture, performance, and collective choreography.
Following Bell's presentation, Lina Lapelytė's project will activate the Turbine Hall from 25 July to 31 August 2026. Known for her work incorporating experimental music and performance, Lapelytė's contribution is expected to further extend the boundaries of participatory sound and theatricality within the institutional space.
These commissions build on UNIQLO Tate Play's history of large-scale interactive works, which has previously featured artists such as Rasheed Araeen, Yayoi Kusama, Oscar Murillo, and Monster Chetwynd, underscoring Tate Modern's ongoing commitment to art and play.
