Tamara de Lempicka Work Sells for $8.51m to Deliver a 9% Annualized Return

Tamara de Lempicka, Portrait du Docteur Boucard (1928) sold for $8.51m (GBP6.63m), more than the low estimate at Christie's in London on March 5.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $8.25m, equivalent to an annualized return of 9%. It last sold at auction in 1985 for $255,000 at Sotheby's.

Oil On Canvas, 137.0 x 78.0cm. The work has been traded twice in the past.
