Takesada Matsutani, Work 66-7 (1966), sold for $65,400 (HKD512,000), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Sotheby's in Hong Kong on March 30.
The sale was below the previous auction result by $23,600, realizing a 26% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2016 for $89,000 at Christie's.
Vinyl adhesive and acrylic on canvas laid on board, 65.0 x 52.5cm. The work has been traded 3 times in the past.
