Stuart Davis, Abstraction in High Key (1931) sold for $44,500, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 14.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $2,550, realizing a 5% negative return. It last sold at auction in 1995 for $47,000 at Christie's.
