Sotheby's to Present Inaugural Asian Art Sales at The Breuer

Sotheby's is set to debut its first Asian Art Sales at its New York location, The Breuer. These forthcoming auctions will present a curated selection encompassing Indian, Himalayan, and Chinese art, reflecting significant regional contributions to global art history.

The sales will feature notable works, including pieces by Maqbool Fida Husain. Prominent collections contributing to these auctions include the Frederick M. Meyer Collection, the Chang Foundation, the Museum of Classical Chinese Furniture, and the Zimmerman Family Collection.

The showcased art spans various mediums, from painting and ceramics to furniture and thangka. This diverse offering highlights different artistic traditions and periods within South Asian and East Asian art markets.

The exhibition of these sale highlights will open to the public at Sotheby's New York | The Breuer, located at 945 Madison Avenue, beginning Thursday, 19 March, at 8:30 am ET.
