Sotheby's to Offer Jay T. Snider Collection of Benjamin Franklin

Sotheby's has announced 'The Jay T. Snider Collection of Benjamin Franklin,' an upcoming auction comprising more than 150 historical items. The collection, assembled by Jay T. Snider, encompasses a variety of materials including letters, books, manuscripts, printed ephemera, and artifacts. These items collectively document Benjamin Franklin's multifaceted contributions to American history, colonial printing, diplomacy, and scientific advancements.

Prior to the sale, selected pieces from the collection will be accessible to the public. An exhibition will take place at the Library Company of Philadelphia from May 5 to 7. Subsequently, the full collection will be exhibited at Sotheby’s New York from June 20 to 24. The auction is scheduled for June 24, 2026, at Sotheby's New York.
