Sotheby's announced strong results from its recent Robert Mnuchin: Collector at Heart Evening Auction and The Now & Contemporary Evening Auction in New York. The Robert Mnuchin Collection achieved a white-glove sale.

The auction series was highlighted by Mark Rothko's painting from the Mnuchin Collection, which realized $85.8 million. Other significant works sold included pieces by Willem de Kooning, Agnes Martin, David Hockney, and Joan Mitchell. The Contemporary Evening Auction also saw active bidding for works by artists such as Ding Shilun, Joseph Yaeger, Yu Nishimura, and Florian Krewer, contributing to what Sotheby's characterized as record-breaking sales across the contemporary segment.

These successful auctions precede planned Contemporary Day and Modern Evening Auctions, further cementing Sotheby's presence in the global art market across its New York, Hong Kong, and London salerooms.
