Socrates Sculpture Park has released its programming calendar for July 2026, highlighting a varied series of exhibitions, public performances, and collaborative workshops. The initiatives reflect the park's ongoing engagement with contemporary artistic practice and its role as an accessible outdoor venue for art.
A significant component of the July schedule is the exhibition "Homecoming: John Morse", which commences on July 4 and continues through November 2026. This presentation is integrated into the larger "2026 Socrates Annual: Artists Choose Artists" program, showcasing Morse’s work, which primarily utilizes flag as a medium for public art.
Performance art is represented by a synthesizer concert from Geller on Saturday, July 11. A collaborative educational program, "Field Guide X Noguchi: Collections: Mixed-Media with Harumi Ori", will be hosted on Saturday, July 18, involving a clay sculpture workshop led by Harumi Ori in partnership with The Noguchi Museum. The month's public programming culminates with Ballet Folklórico Mexicano de Nueva York presenting “La Guelaguetza” on Sunday, July 26, offering a performance aspect.
Broader community initiatives, also running through the summer, include Hallet’s Cove Community Kayaking with LIC Boathouse every Tuesday through August 25, and regular wellness sessions such as Sunset Meditation with Mindful Astoria and Yoga at Socrates with Astoria Yoga, held on Sundays through September 27.
