Sigmar Polke, Alpenveilchen (1967) sold for $5.32m, more than the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 15.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $1.69m, realizing a 24% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2019 for $7m at Christie's.

Dispersion on canvas, 170.0 x 150.0cm. The work has been traded 5 times in the past.
