Sarah Meyohas is a top trending artist on HENI News after two works from her pioneering ‘Bitchcoin’ (2015) project were acquired by Paris’ Centre Pompidou.

Sarah Meyohas is a New York-based visual artist working across multiple disciplines, and a pioneer in the field of crypto art. Born in 1991, Meyohas grew up in Seattle and attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where she earned a degree in finance and international studies. After working briefly in the finance industry, Meyohas turned her attention to the art world and began creating art that draws on her background in finance and economics.

Meyohas first gained attention for her creation of 'Bitchcoin' in February 2015, which predated the launch of Ethereum. Each 'Bitchcoin' is backed by physical art created by Meyohas, making the project one of the first examples of tokenisation of art on the blockchain. In February 2023, Paris’ Centre Pompidou announced that it had acquired two Bitchcoins, in addition to 17 other NFTs joining it's permanent collection, highlighting the cultural importance of the project.

Auction sales for Meyohas’ work have totalled more than $400,000 over the last two years and her HENI score, a measure of an artist’s market performance and media sentiment, has increased 88% in the last three months.
