Sam Francis Work Sells for $241,300 to Deliver a 4% Annualized Return

Sam Francis, Untitled (1989) sold for $241,300, more than twice the low estimate at Sotheby's in New York on May 16.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $161,300, equivalent to an annualized return of 4%. It last sold at auction in 2001 for $80,000 at Sotheby's.
