Salvador Dali, Chair de poule rhinocérontique (1956), sold for $7.27m, more than the low estimate at Christie's in New York on May 18.

The sale beat the previous auction result for this work by $5.87m, equivalent to an annualized return of 6%. It last sold at auction in 2000 for $1.4m at Sotheby's.
