The Saint Louis Art Museum has announced its exhibitions and events for October and November.

Among them is Unsettling the City: Julie Mehretu’s Epigraph, Damascus, featuring the Ethiopian-American abstract artist known for her monumental, multi-layered works exploring urbanization and geopolitics. Also on view is Juanita McNeely, focusing on the American feminist painter recognized for her visceral depictions of the female body.

Historical narratives are explored through The Dead of Chaeronea: Unearthing a Lost Battlefield, alongside Visions of Antiquity and Picturing Independence. The museum also presents cultural heritage with Osage Art: Articulations of Wahzhazhe Ways and Quilts and Coverlets: American Needlework in White.

Women Impressionists and the Land is also scheduled, an exhibition that builds on the museum's history with the genre; Art in America described a 1990 Impressionism exhibition at the institution as "an absolute smash."
