Opening to the public on 5 June 2026, 'The Sun and The Moon: Art Inspired by the Celestial' at Saatchi Gallery will feature over 100 artists examining the enduring influence of the sun and moon across art history and contemporary practice. The exhibition is scheduled to run until 8 September 2026.

Thematically, the exhibition delves into diverse interpretations of celestial bodies, spanning mythology, science, human imagination, and the natural world. It encompasses sub-themes such as spirituality, folklore, magic, dreams, and timekeeping, reflecting humanity's long-standing fascination with the cosmos.

The extensive list of participating artists includes figures such as Leonora Carrington, William Hogarth, Barbara Hepworth, Joan Miró, Paul Nash, Paula Rego, and Bridget Riley, alongside contemporary practitioners like Álvaro Barrington, Luke Jerram, teamLab, and Yinka Ilori. The selection covers a wide array of mediums, including painting, sculpture, fashion, textiles, photography, film, installations, woodcut, and digital art, showcasing the breadth of artistic responses to the celestial.

Support for the exhibition comes from Cazenove Capital, with additional collaborations noted with institutions such as Royal Museums Greenwich, The Salisbury Museum, and The Atlantis Bookshop. Tickets for 'The Sun and The Moon' will be available for purchase from 15 April 2026.
