Ronald Ventura, Grayground (2011), sold for $652,700 (HKD5.12m), more than one and a half times the low estimate at Christie's in Hong Kong on September 29.
The sale was below the previous auction result by $430,100, realizing a 39% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2011 for $1.08m at Sotheby's.
