Ron Mueck's monumental sculpture 'Boy' will temporarily depart from its home in Denmark at ARoS Aarhus Art Museum for an exhibition at Museum Voorlinden. The exchange marks Voorlinden's 10th-anniversary exhibition, titled Celebrating the Icons of Art.
The exhibition at the private museum is scheduled to open on September 12 and Boy is due remain at Voorlinden until February 21, 2027.
Museum Voorlinden was founded by Dutch businessman and collector Joop van Caldenborgh and opened to the public in 2016.
While Boy is at Museum Voorlinden, ARoS will host Couple Under an Umbrella, Mueck's larger than life group sculpture, to complete the exchange of sculpture.
Mueck's sculptures, often crafted from fibreglass, silicone, and resin, are renowned for their meticulous detail and exploration of human scale and vulnerability.
