Robert Vickrey, The Doorway (Undated) sold for $50,200, more than 12 times the low estimate at Rago Arts & Auction Center in Lambertville on May 22. The oil on canvas work has not been traded before.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $7,660, a 18% rise.

The previous record was set by The Wall (1953), which sold for $42,500 at Sotheby's on September 13, 2006.
