The Contemporary Arts Museum Houston (CAMH) is set to present Robert Pruitt: Infinite, the artist's first career-spanning survey exhibition. Opening December 11, 2026, and running through April 4, 2027, the exhibition will encompass over 120 works across various media, tracing Pruitt's 25-year practice.

This exhibition marks Pruitt's return to Houston, where he was born and received his Bachelor of Arts from Texas Southern University. Though now based in New York, his formative years in the city and education at an institution with a legacy in Black figurative art have influenced his artistic vision. Pruitt is recognized for his large-scale figurative drawings that explore themes of Black identity, history, and cultural mythology. His work frequently incorporates elements of Afrofuturism, science fiction, and hip-hop culture, reimagining the Black American experience through heroic and often spiritual figures. This comprehensive survey will present his draftsmanship and narrative approach.
