Robert Michel, das i, a, á - bildchen (1920) sold for $69,200 (GBP52,900), more than twice the low estimate at Christie's in London on October 9. The gouache and pen and wash and India and coloured inks, heightened with white, on paper laid down on the artist’s mount work has been traded twice in the past.
The sale beat the artist’s previous auction record by $440, a 0% rise.
