Rene Magritte, La lumière du pôle (1926) sold for $6.26m (GBP4.88m), more than the low estimate at Christie's in London on March 5.

The sale was below the previous auction result by $1.71m, realizing a 21% negative return. It last sold at auction in 2022 for $7.96m at Christie's.

Oil On Canvas, 139.0 x 104.8cm. The work has been traded 8 times in the past.
